David Augustus Goodson
President & Chief Executive Officer
David Augustus Goodson is the founder and owner of American Tec Electric Company. He has 45 years of experience as a master electrician, project manager and senior executive. Mr. Goodson was born in Jersey City, NJ and raised on his father's families land in Hopkins, SC. A graduate of Lower Richland High School. David's interest in the electrical industry hit when he studied electronics/electricity in 12 grade high school going to LR's trade school. From there he went to college in Pennsylvania before being accepted into the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers apprenticeship program. Upon graduation and achieving his journeyman electrician's card Mr. Goodson moved back to SC. There he worked for a number of major electrical firms before deciding to open his own business. All his life he had seen the disparity when it came to hiring people of color. He saw many good black people get passed over for no other reason than color. He decided to open a business for everyone equally. He obtained the state's unlimited electrical contractor's license to conduct business in NC, SC and GA then started American Tec Electric Company in 2015. A second chance company. Giving all the opportunity to live a greater American dream. Since opening its doors 9 years ago, American Tec Electric Company has proven to be sustainable and profitable.
